
Elissa Scalise Powell
Elissa is a Certified Genealogist as well as a Certified Genealogical Lecturer with the Board for Certified Genealogists. Professional Genealogists, co-Director of the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIPitt.org), the Professional Course coordinator at the Institute for Genealogy and Historic Research in Athens, Georgia, and a creator and past-instructor for the Boston University Genealogical Research Certificate program. She conducts research for clients in the western Pennsylvania region.
She has recorded lectures at Legacy Family Tree webinars,the Virtual Institute of Genealogical Research (VIGRgenealogy.com) and the FamilySearch.org Learning Center Help Lessons.
Elissa appears in Episode 207 "Cemetery Records" of the PBS-TV station KBYU's "Ancestors 2" series and on the Travel Channel's "Dead Files." She is co-editor of two Pioneer Cemeteries books published by the North Hills Genealogists [of Pittsburgh]. She is a frequent speaker at national and regional genealogy conferences and belongs to numerous genealogical organizations and Pioneer Family and lineage programs.
