Kristi Sexton

Kristi Sexton is a native to southern California, only having lived in two other states and finding herself right back at home in Orange County. As a teacher, friend, lecturer and researcher of all things family and lineage, I hope to be able to share just one drop of the passion I have for genealogy into someone else.

My "work life" has taken me down a few roads from Grocery, business ownership, retail, aerospace and into accounting and auditing. During a minor mid-life crisis going back to college to finish what was started so many moons ago, and most recently received my Master's in accounting in 2016. Currently I work PT in City Government accounting, to supplement my Genealogy obsession.

My personal life takes a simple stride – Married almost 20 years to another local native of So Cal, raised our family here and now have a furry family at home that keep us on our toes. Travel is a huge part of Kristi's Family life, to various foreign lands, in search of great adventure!

Genealogy has been a major part of Kristi's life for nearly 3 decades - when introduced during a simple project to her own heritage by her Favorite Grandma - who jumped on the train with her as well. Taking a break from research due to life, but always teaching and sharing, has recently been able to work solely on her own family tree for some time now.

Lecturing, teaching, training, and running her own company, One Leaf Genealogy, has been at the forefront for a few years now.....serving as the President of Orange County California Genealogical Society, and has most recently added being an online instructor for Brigham Young University – Idaho in the Family History Department. Life is very busy and blessed.
