We will discuss the types of genealogical research questions that DNA can be useful for and how to plan your research and DNA testing to bring those brick walls tumbling down.

11:30 am Session 2: Harnessing the Power of Genetic Networks
Genetic networks are based on shared matches. Shared matches are the most powerful part of our DNA test results. Learn strategies for identifying the genetic networks that will be most useful in answering your research questions.

1:30 pm Session 3: Using "What Are The Odds"
"What Are The Odds?" is a powerful statistical calculator that can help you determine how you are related to your DNA matches. Learn strategies and techniques for using this tool, and work through a hands-on application.

2:45 pm Session 4: Case Studies
We will review case studies that employed strategically testing, identifying genetic networks, and using "What Are the Odds" to answer genealogical questions of kinship and identity. This last session is the practical application of everything learned during the day.
