10:15 am | Session 1: Making the Most of Y DNA Results - Your and Your Relative's Too We will look at Y DNA tools at FamilyTreeDNA and how to utilize them. STR markers, the Big Y, the block tree and even other people's results. We will also include using projects and utilizing other websites and tools to find candidates for your Y DNA lines. |

11:30 am | Session 2: Mitochondrial DNA - What Can It Do For You? Everyone can test their own mitochondrial DNA, and everyone has a mitochondrial story. We will look at the tools provided to put your mother's direct line story together and how to locate potential testers for each of your ancestral lines. |

1:30 pm | Session 3: Using X DNA to Solve Problems X DNA is often a neglected tool, yet it can be very useful to genealogists due to its unique inheritance path. We will look at X matching at FamilyTreeDNA, 23andMe and GEDmatch, vendors who support X chromosome matching. |

2:45 pm | Session 4: DNA Tossed Salad: Putting It All Together – Tests and Vendors Four different kinds of DNA matching, Y, mitochondrial, autosomal and X provide us with a plethora of tools available at a variety of vendors. As a genealogist, how do you put this together? When can you use various tools to solve problems? We will evaluate specific situations and set up analysis plans that will guide our DNA testing, searching and evaluation. |
