Welcome to OCCGS!

The Orange County California Genealogical Society (established in 1963) is a non-profit, educational organization in Huntington Beach with 400 members. Its purpose is to collect, preserve and disseminate knowledge and information in regards to genealogy and related historical, biographical and heraldic data. It strives to instill and promote interest and instruction in genealogical research. OCCGS provides full maintenance and development of the Genealogy Collection housed at the Huntington Beach Central Library (lower level), which now contains over 20,000 volumes. Beginning Genealogy - February 4, 2019

Our FREE Beginning Genealogy Class is held the first Monday of each month except January and December. When a holiday falls on the first Monday, the class date will change to the second Monday of that month.
